Revision of Sunrise Highway: Valley Stream and Lynbrook to Freeport

In 2015 - I wrote a Proposal involving Sunrise Highway. Since then, I've been working on revising and improving my initial ideas. I made the decision to stray away from what I initally supported and decided to make some revisions. here, I will start with Valley Stream-Freeport.

Valley Stream to Lynbrook

One of the Proposals involving I-35 in Austin, Texas, utilizing the Cut and Cover technique, which would provide a new surface boulevard and some real estate while allowing I-35 to pass underground.  (Source: Reconnect Austin)

Sunrise Highway passes through Green Acres Mall, this portion would remain the same, predominantly surface level with exits for certain access points at Green Acres Mall. But Past Mill Rd, It would change configurations

One scenario I've been toying with is Cut and Cover. Cut and Cover technique would allow the Roadway to be built with a new surface boulevard Above. The Surface Road, now known as Brooklyn Ave, would be four lanes, with one lane for buses and improved connections with the downtowns in the area.

Past Valley Stream's downtown, the road would re-emerge, once again utilizing a surface-level configuration, moving the highway's lanes slightly east to construct a service road to access the car dealerships.

Lynbrook to Rockville Centre: Bypass Configuration

The Downtown areas of Lynbrook and Rockville Centre make a direct link impossible. This is one part of the proposal that requires manuvering and I believe I've figured it out.

The Highway would divert from the main road and follow Peninsula Boulevard before diverting into a small bored tunnel segement that flows along Centre Ave and veers along the Rockville Centre LIRR tracks before re-emerging. From Hickey Field to the Freeport electric grid, the road would once more be surface level with over and underpasses constructed to allow various streets to cross. Access to the Baldwin Shopping Center would be cut off, as travelers would have to access it via Grand Ave.

In Freeport the cut and cover option would be repeated
