Overview: Theodore Roosevelt Bridge and Tunnel (I-287)
In light of recent news regarding the Sound Crossing being suspended, I've decided to re-evaluate my initial proposal. Someone had brought up the possibility of a Bridge-Tunnel, and I agreed, so I began playing around with it and came up with something.
The Seaford-Oyster Bay Currently ends at NY 25. To extend it, the best case scenario would be a tunneled approach which would go under Syosset High School and enter the sound via the Inner Harbor and terminate at an artificial island.
Ventilation would be pretty modern, with the Park serving as its source. Bridge would be far enough not to compromise the view of the beaches in the area. Residents of Oyster Bay will be unable to really complain about the Sound Tunnel blocking their view.
This plan isn't the best, but it will work

The Bridged segement would be built as a cable-stayed suspension bridge, in the style of the current bridges being constructed. The Bridge would connect with I-287 in Rye.Other Points
North of Exit 14, there would be no new interchanges, meaning traffic would not be able to enter any other streets.Ventilation would be pretty modern, with the Park serving as its source.
